The currently available anticancer therapies are restricted by low therapeutic indexes and nefarious side-effects consequential from a non-selective targeting of rapidly dividing cells. Synthetic Lethality (SL) – death occurring from concomitant, but not individual, disruption of two genes – is a promising approach to selective cancer cell-targeting, ameliorating overall outcomes of cancer treatment.
