Background: Total cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein and low density lipoproteins are the recommended lipid variables for diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease. However, recent information shows the importance of apolipoprotein B and CRP as risk predictors of suspected CAD.
