The influence of genetic modification of food on health as a contemporary social issueThe article attempts to demonstrate that the process of genetic modification of food and its consequences in the form of influencing the health of entire societies, agro-ecosystems and the environment, which increasingly depends on the degree to which basic needs are met, is a contemporary social issue. Based on the results of mainly biochemical and biotechnological research, the types of genetic modifications of food and their impact on health have been analysed.
