Emotions in academic opinions According to the general opinion, the assessment of scientific dissertations should be emotionally neutral and reliable. However, many evaluations contain emotional expressions. The author argues that linguists have no experience and theoretical basis for speaking about emotions. The author defines the scope of available linguistic research on emotions. The emotions found in the dissertations are analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively on the basis of a large body of evaluations of Polish scientific papers.
