THE MOUNTAIN ROMA AS A MULTICUTURAL COMMUNITY OF THE CARPATHIAN BORDERLANDThe article was inspired by the author’s search for ethnic identity. The author focuses on a group of Polish Carpathian Roma as a multicultural community living in the multi-ethnic Carpathia borderland. Her research perspective falls within broadly defined anthropological studies, primarily with regard to various aspects of the life of highland Roma in Poland. The aim of the article is to examine the exclusion and transgression of the Carpathian Roma with regard to the functioning of the group among the Polish Roma communities and Polish highlander communities.
