Poland and Spain in the historical perspectiveThe article presents the areas of research, that have been carried out in the field of Polish historical hispanistics. This branch of science has followed the rules set by Joachim Lelewel and has focused first of all on comparative studies showing the history of the bilateral relationship between Poland and Spain. Next, the article presents the new directions of research within Polish historical hispanistics, that show both countries with reference to European civilization. When compared to European civilization, both countries which are placed in border regions, strived to create their own solutions.
