LEGAL PROTECTION OF GENETIC PRIVACY

The right of the patient’s privacy, first of all, the right to confidentiality of medical information is one of the basic human rights guaranteed in the field of health care. The protection of personal data is especially important in terms of genetic data as a particularly sensitive category of personal data, since it can reveal delicate information on the physiology and health of the individual, so that their detection represents a significant interference in the private sphere of the person to whom it relates.
