Evelyn Waugh is probably the most enduring satirist among British modernists, even though he refused this statement. All his works are satirical and psychological. Among his popular books, “A Handful of Dust” has a great significance. In this novel the writer uses lots of stylistic devices and their combinations make the novel comic and satirical. By using stylistic devices and other tools Waugh succeeded in bringing out the real negative problems of the society. On the one hand, his sentences are comic, but, on the other hand, they are satirical
