vCurrent research has been focused on the effects of social cues, and how individuals use all different types of stimuli to form attitudes about themselves, members of their group, and those that they consider outside their group. However, there is little research focused on understanding the developmental thresholds in children around nonverbal cues, specifically at what age are they able to recognize them, as well as if they possess the ability to use nonverbal cues to infer other factors of social status and hierarchy.
