The prediction methods of sunspot cycles and the expected features of 25th cycle

Leke çevrimi, güneş aktivitesinin günümüze kadar birçok bilim insanı tarafından çalışılmış özelliklerinden biridir. ~11 yıllık çevrimin özelliklerinin belirlenmesi için güneş leke gruplarının alanları, konumları, eğim açıları vb. nicelikleri ölçülmüş ve birbirleri ile olan ilişkileri incelenerek tüm çevrimler birbirleri ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Farklı yöntemler kullanılarak yeni çevrimlerin özellikleri tahmin edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Güneş aktivitesi için farklı yöntem ve modeller ile yapılan tahmin çalışmalarının gözlemler ile tam olarak uyuşmadığı görülmüştür. Bunun nedeni olarak güneş aktivitesinin kaynağı olan süreçlerin tam olarak anlaşılamamış olması gösterilmiştir. Bu tez çalışmasında, güneş leke çevrimi tahmini için literatürde yer alan çalışmalar toplanarak kullanılan tahmin yöntemleri incelenmiş ve günümüzde devam etmekte olan 25. güneş leke çevrimi için öngörüler güneş leke gözlemleri ile karşılaştırılarak tartışılmıştır.Spot cycle is one of the features of solar activity that has been studied by many scientists until today. In order to determine the characteristics of the ~11-year cycle, the areas, positions, angles of inclination of the sunspot groups, etc. quantities were measured and all cycles were compared with each other by examining their relations with each other. The properties of new cycles have been tried to be estimated using different methods. It has been seen that the prediction studies made with different methods and models for solar activity do not agree with the observations completely. It is stated that the reason for this is not clearly understanding of the processes that are the source of solar activity. In this thesis, the studies about sunspot cycle prediction were collected in the literature and the prediction methods used were reviewed and the predictions for the 25th sunspot cycle, which is ongoing today, were compared with the sunspot observations and discussed
