In this study, production of biocoal and activated carbon from textile fibres was investigated. In production of biocoal, three types of fibres (cotton/polyester, acrylic/wool and acrylic) were torrefied between 300-400 ºC. The effects of torrefaction temperature and type of fibre on yield and properties (fuel properties, combustion characteristics and structural/morphological properties) of biocoal were investigated. Activated carbons were produced via chemical activation using ZnCl2 from cotton/polyester and acrylic/wool fibres.
