The article starts from a geopolitical perspective within the framework of the complexity theory and it deepens the directions of the European integration. Then, the article connects the concepts of European citizenship with the European integration, proposing the notion of “Continental citizenship platforms”, which is inferred from the issue of “Continental platform of Nationality”. In the end, the article proposes new paths of integration, with a deep stress on the Mediterranean area, focussing, in particular, on the cultural integration
