People are extremely quickly exposed to excessive news about an issue, including health information, due to the rapid development of information technology and telecommunications. Access to health information might make it easier for people to do self-diagnose which can trigger anxiety in itself (cyberchondria). Person with strong e-health literacy are less likely to suffer from cyberchondria because they are aware that the internet is merely a tool for delivering results related to their search terms and cannot objectively and scientifically diagnose symptoms.
