Village Heresy in the Diocese of Carcassone in the Middle of the 13th Century. Used at first to grasp the place of heresy in towns, Inquisition registers also give out useful information on its presence in villages. From March 12th to March 17th 1250, the clerk recorded the testimony of the inhabitants - but not of any Perfect - of villages situated a few kilometres away from Carcassonne : Cornèze, Cavanac, Leuc and Couffoulens. The witnesses agreeingly confirm the passage of Perfect clandestine, and describe the way they were welcomed.
