Planning inner areas in the territory of Cilento

Significant environmental and landscape assets, together with physical and social weaknesses related to the geological risk and to depopulation/ageing population, are peculiar to inner areas. On the background of the related EU policy, a national strategy for inner areas in Italy was defined and the territory has been classified according to a polycentric approach, highlighting the lack of basic services. In the light of the literature on landscape analysis, we propose an integration between the DPS classification methodology and the identification/evaluation of Cultural Landscape Services, on the background of the main accessibility system. The innovative interpretation of the landscape might be useful to support the definition of priorities related to projects to be implemented within the National Park of Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburn
