This article aims to discuss the contributions of the Historical and Dialectical Materialism method and the assumptions of Social-Historical Psychology to research with teachers and managers the meanings constituted about the curriculum of initial training and about educational and pedagogical issues experienced in the teaching activity. For this purpose, we started from two investigations that share the purpose of understanding and explaining constitutive aspects of the activity and teacher education.
