Analysis of blockchain technology : answers to the needs of the dental sector supply chain

The dental sector supply chain faces many challenges like any other supply chain. This thesis aims to determine the supply chain challenges faced in the dental sector by manufacturers and whether blockchain can be implemented in the dental sector to help resolve these challenges. First, the research introduces theoretical knowledge to help understand the supply chain, blockchain and the possibility of its implementation. Later the results were analyzed to reach a better understanding. The main challenges addressed by the manufacturers can be solved with blockchain. However, only a few companies which have implemented the technology and the larger competitors are not yet willing to implement it due to the unclear ROI and other external obstacles. Overall, blockchain promises ease of work and automation, but is yet to be adopted on a larger scale
