A significant stress control can be achieved, in cable terminations, using stress control tubes (SCTs), made of materials characterised by non-linear electric properties. In order to design reliable components we need an accurate evaluation of the electrical field distribution at the screen truncation and in the surrounding region. In this paper, the electric field is numerically evaluated in a domain comprising the termination and suitable surrounding regions adopting the electroquasistatic (EQS) approximation of Maxwell equations. A specific emphasis is given to the role played, on the field distribution, by different sets of boundary conditions resulting from distinct geometrical configurations and arrangements of the termination
