Purpose: Chitosan (CHI) is a hydrophilic polymers largely investigated for biomedical applications due to its biocompatibility, biodegradability, cheapness. Moreover, antimicrobic properties and induction of cell proliferation have been attributed to this natural polymer. Here, we proposed new formulations based on a CHI, alone or associated to actives, for application on wound healing. Methods: CHI was autoclaved and the resulting powder was dissolved at 2% w/w in acetic acid 0.1 M; the dispersion was sonicated for 30-40 min and then placed in an oven at 37 ° C under vacuum for 48h.
