A model of scalar hysteresis able in describing hysteretic behavior of ferro-electric materials is presented. It is one of the easiest examples of model of hysteresis with non-local memory and enjoys all mathematical properties of the classical Preisach one. Like all black box models (i.e. all models which have not relations to the physics of the phenomenon under description) it is necessary to define a procedure of identification of model's parameters. The discussion tries to outline a methodology to define a hysteresis model pointing out the problems related to the identification procedure
