Geomorphological features of the lagoonal system of Sabàudia (Lazio Province, central Italy) have been studied in this research. It has been possible to point out the late Quaternary evolution of this coastal transitional environment throughout morphological surveys, stratigraphic and sedimentological analysis both of emerged and underwater landscape of the lagoon. The Quaternary geologic history and the morphological features of the coastal zone suggest that the lagoon formation and evolution are linked to mutual interactions between tectono-sedimentary, climatic and hydrodynamic factors acting during late Pleistocene - Holocene.
