Living together with responsibility: which dimensions emerge among social groups in local communities?

This work explores the reciprocal meanings attributed to living together with responsibility in social group. The aim was to understand the discrepancy between the cultural changes related to the redefinition of the group's role and practices aimed at promoting social well-being. To reach this purpose, were conducted ten focus groups with members of social group. Through the analysis of the focus groups, carried out thanks to Grounded Theory (Strauss & Corbin, 1998), the categories of meaning have been identified. Reading about this phenomenon, the structuring dimensions of the local representation of living together and the various factors determining the construction of pro-social actions emerged. A non-recognition of spaces for sharing and negotiation was underlined. Results show that perceived interdependence could have a significant effect on cooperation among groups. In particular, the lack of trust that empowers constructive interdependence, functional to responsible co-living prevails. Finally studying this phenomenon has given some indications about aspects to be examined further in order to promote future effective interventions. Theoretical and practical implications of the results will be discussed
