The response of a structural component to the turbulent boundary layer (TBL) excitation is one to the main research topic of the present research group. This multidisciplinary problem is present in all the branches of the transportation engineering; it can be considered a one of the prodromic scheme of the fluid-structure interaction; in fact, from the structural dynamics area can be easily extended with the aeroelastic and acoustoelastic couplings. The current research efforts try (i) to increase the predictive quality, (ii) to reduce the computational cost, (iii) to obtain good agreement with the experimental data.
