Soft tissue myxoma or intramuscular myxoma (IM), is an uncommon benign tumor composed of fibroblasts and abundant myxoid stroma, that presents as a slow growing, ussually asymptomatic mass confined to the skeletal muscle. They are generally found at the limbs and exceedingly rare neck masses in the pediatric population. We report a case of a 13 years old male with a soft tissue myxoma localized in the submental space, that have been growing slowly for more than two years. A computed tomography revealed a hypodense mass located in the root of the tongue. The tumor was excised in an uneventful procedure. The pathological diagnosis was a soft tissue myxoma.
