The leading role of a common IP-based infrastructure, able to sustain the increasing communications and information superiority, requires the use of a flexible and dynamically-matching communications architecture, especially when the new concepts of Network Enabled Capabilities and Network Centric Warfare are taken in consideration. Modern technologies make it possible to enhance the Network role, as an integrator of platforms and systems.
