THE EXISTENCE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MUHAMMADIYAH MALANG LIBRARY DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The Covid-19 virus has caused a pandemic in Indonesia in 2020. This virus is classified as an infectious disease which results in policies such as physical distancing, social restrictions both small and large scale and lockdown. The impact of the Covid-19 virus has been felt in various sectors, one of which is the university sector, under which there is a library unit. The university library as an information center, of course, will provide information services to meet the needs of the academic community. UMM Library is one of the university libraries that still exists despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how the existence of UMM Library of UMM during the pandemic. The study method used is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach and data analysis techniques using John W Cresswell's descriptive qualitative analysis model. The innovations carried out by the UMM Library during the Covid-19 pandemic in order to continue to exist were to innovate library services including creating the myUMM Library, changing the concept of information literacy services into digital form (online) and being more active in providing library services through social media. In addition, librarians during the Covid-19 pandemic can still exist and develop by participating in various online seminars and actively writing various scientific papers to get several winners
