Introduction Postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) are the most common complications following thoracoscopic surgery, resulting in increased hospital costs and perioperative mortality. Studies have shown that intravenous lidocaine infusion can exert its anti-inflammatory properties by reducing the release of proinflammatory cytokines.
