Nanopartículas (NPs) constituem uma fonte de poluição ambiental difusa e de difícil remediação, tornando-se um grande e crescente problema ambiental. Dentre as nanopartículas, as de dióxido de titânio (nano-TiO 2 ) são de amplo uso e estão presentes em inúmeros produtos de consumo humano, sendo facilmente inseridas de maneira passiva em ecossistemas marinhos, especialmente em águas costeiras, onde estão menos difusas e em maiores concentrações ( 5 g/mL).
