Liquid Scintillation Counting (LSC) has been employed for the detection of some nuclear signatures. Two International Atomic Energy Authority (IAEA, Vienna) reference samples (375 and 373), which are comprised of different matrices, have been investigated. These samples were used in order to develop and test radioanalytical methods for convenient sample preparation for LSC. A sample of Rhine river water has also been analysed for its tritium content
