A four-year-old toy poodle was presented with a recurrent foul smelling vulval discharge of faecal origin following hysterectomy. A contrast radiograph revealed an iatrogenic enterovaginal fistula. After confirming the clinical and radiographic diagnosis by exploratory laparotomy, the defect was surgically repaired by separating the adhesions and closing the communicating tracts between the jejunum and the vaginal stump. The fistula may have developed after hysterectomy when parts of the jejunum became trapped in the ligature of the vaginal stump
