Introduction: The ventral pallidum (VP) is central in the limbic Basal Ganglia circuit, controlling both appetitive (approach) and aversive (avoidance) motivated behaviors. Nevertheless, VP involvement in pathological aspects remains unclear, especially in the behavioral expression of different motivational dysfunctions.
