We study a generalized version of hilltop inflation where the standard hilltop potential has been raised to a power and we allow fractional numbers for both the original hilltop power and the overall exponent. In the parameter space studied, the latter plays the major role in finding an agreement with the latest experimental constraint. Finally, we also find that the two characteristic mass scales of the inflaton potential differ by several orders of magnitude, indicating that a common fundamental origin is quite unlikely.Comment: 14 pages, 5 figure
