Teorie míst paměti v rekonstrukci českých národních symbolů 19. století

Review of the volume "Places of memory in the process of formation of the modern Czech nation" (Cultural memory in the formation of modern Czech), published in 2021 by Historický ústav AV ČR. This contribution offers a complete overview of the topics investigated by the various contributors in each chapter. Furthermore, the introduction is dedicated to an illustration of the methodology employed. Moreover, this review highlights how the methodology employed, i.e. the theory of places of memory, is particularly useful for the reinterpretation of Czech national symbols that played an essential role in the nineteenth century during the so-called "Národní osvobození "
