Il lavoro presentato in questa tesi ha riguardato lo studio e l'ottimizzazione sia dei dispositivi (celle solari a coloranti e a base perovskitica) che dei materiali utilizzati. All'inizio il lavoro di ricerca è stato dedicato al miglioramento delle celle solari a colorante e quindi successivamente il know-how tecnologico acquisito è stato utilizzato nello studio e l'ottimizzazione delle celle solari perovskitiche. L'ottimizzazione ed il miglioramento dell'efficienza dei dispositivi fotovoltaici sono stai ottenuti grazie a trattamenti superficiali del fotoanodo di TiO2 successivi alla sua deposizione ed utilizzando fotoanodi compositi SWCNT/TiO2.
