Secularism in Turkey is the result of a process that has accelerated since 2002, since the Justice and Development Party (AKP), resulting from the split of the Islamist movement Millî Görüş, holds power with a reform agenda regarding religion. This article explores the evolution in three aspects involving the concept of secularism which are the state domain, the legal domain and the societal domain and wonders if Turkey has changed in its nature over the last twenty years with regard to the place of religiosity in the public sphere
