International audienceDuring the archaeological excavations of the Gallo-Roman site of Bétheny (“Les Ecavés”, in northern France), the disconnected remains of an adult placed in a stone coffin were recovered. Detailed excavation and analysis of the bones and the structure of the remains indicate a complex burial process.
