Abstract Research on occupational cancer epidemiology has been an important area of occupational health in Italy. While according to epidemiological estimates the proportion of all cancers attributable to occupational factor is about 4%, the number of compensated occupational cancers in Italy is remarkably lower. Re.Na.M., OCCAM and ISOD projects are example of epidemiological surveillance and can serve as basis for ad hoc studies
