The fluid inerter is a new mechanical element which has received great attention in the field of vibration reduction. However, due to the influence of secondary flow in the curved channel, the damping force is too large and the inertia force is relatively small, which limits the engineering applications of the single-cylinder fluid inerter. To eliminate the influence of secondary flow in the single-cylinder fluid inerter, this paper proposes a dual-cylinder fluid inerter that has a straight tube instead of the spiral pipe or spiral groove. We Analyze the working principle, derive conditions of free movement, establish the damping force and inertia force model, and prove the validity of the model through bench testing. Contrastingly, it is f...
