The \u201cGenoa Old City Cultural Map\u201d, made inside European Program "Life", referred at 2.344 building, and the analysis of many mortars coming from front of some of the most important building of the town, made for restoring, are the foundation of this article. They are buildings of the period between XVI and XIX century when were used mortars made of lime and sand, with the progressive substitution of magnesian lime with pure lime and the complete elimination of the chalk.
