Rituals accompany people from their birth till death and play very important roles in their lives. They are an indispensable element of human functioning even though the participation in them is not always fully conscious. Organized outside daily routine they signify the uniqueness and importance of events which they accompany. Despite the fact that they themselves undergo changes what should be noticed is the need of stability based on what is certain and predictable. Understanding rituals of individuals and groups is a necessary condition for understanding the present time
