In the current work, a psychoacoustic analysis is proposed which is applied to musical sounds. In other words, the analysis is based on perceptual parameters related to the human hearing system and these parameters are compared with conventional methods of signal analysis. In this context, we work with a frequency-band analysis whose amplitudes are expressed in dB weighted by the curves A, B, C, and D, which are compared with amplitudes expressed in Phons, a measurement unit of loudness. Loudness indicates how much more intense a sound is perceived, in a way that more loudness is always associated with perceptually more intense sounds.
