The D2A satellite carried the HαD2A instrument dedicated to the observation of geocoronal hydrogen in order to study the distribution of hydrogen in the Earth's atmosphere below 1000 km altitude. However, in the vicinity of the main observing wavelength (6536 Å), many spurious signals appear which are partly attributable to the auoral emission, the zodiacal cotinuum, the light of the Moon and planets as well as the light of stars and H-emissive nebulae. The use of a two-way photometer at 6563 and 6530 Å allowed to exploit these "spurious" signals for the main mission, in order to deduce information in particular on the sources of the zodiacal light and the light of the nebulae.The operation without degradation of the instrument during 26 mo...
