In this paper we present iCITY, a social adaptive multi-device recommender guide that exploits Semantic Web technologies in a Web 2.0 vision together with adaptive web techniques in order to provide personalized information about events that take place in the city of Torino. Web 2.0 refers to a second-generation of Internet-based services that let people collaborate and share information online. iCITY, offering the means to involve users in the promotion of the events of the place where they live or they are visiting, allows to increase the real participation of people to the cultural life of the territory
