This thesis is devoted to the study of a particular type of zeta function: ask zeta functions associated with modules of matrices. These zeta functions are obtained by averaging over the sizes of the kernels of matrices obtained from modules of matrices or module representations. Explicit formulae are obtained using methods from p-adic integration and through applications of classification results for matrices of linear forms (matrix pencils, in particular)
