Environmental systems are and will be more affected by climate change. Predicting the future dynamics of these complex systems in the context of climate change is necessary and represents a considerable challenge for the scientific community in order to support public policies in their decisions. In this context, tools and methods have been developed to solve these challenges. The work presented in this thesis focuses mainly on groundwater seepage and the impact it can have on coastal systems at low elevations.
