An investigation into road transport exhaust emissions in the Genoa urban area was performed by comparing the quantities of carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and particulate matter (PM) emitted by different vehicle categories with air quality measurements referred to the same pollutants.
