DISTRIBUTION: Queensland, New South Wales, SE South Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania (Australia). STATUS: Common but vulnerable to local extinction. SYNONYMS: brevirostris, crispus, fuscus, laevis, novaehollandiae, paradoxus, phoxinus, rufus, triton. COMMENTS: Name is commonly attributed to Shaw and Nodder, but Nodder was the publisher, not an author.Published as part of Colin P.
