Orthogeomys lanius (Elliot, 1905). Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 18:235. TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Veracruz, Xuchil, SE side of Mt. Orizaba. DISTRIBUTION: Known only from the type locality. COMMENTS: Subgenus Heterogeomys. May be conspecific with hispidus (Hall, 1981:512).Published as part of James L.
