Interaction between Climate and Tourism: a Research on Skiability Conditions in Several Skiing Complexes on Piedmontese and Dolomitic Alps

In this work there have been studied nivo-meteorological data, pertaining to the winter-season (No-vember-April) from 1991/92 to 2000/01, collected in six automatic stations located in well-known skiing complexes on Eastern Alps (Dolomites) and Western Alps (Piedmont) at altitudes between 1800 and 2800 metres a.s.l., all with different geographical position and exposure to air masses carrying precipita-tions.
