Lukas Hottinger’s present monograph, entitled Paleogene larger rotaliid foraminifera from the western and central Neotethys, including plates and illustrations, has been a long-term project. The present book supplements the monograph on the Neogene to Recent Rotaliacea (Hottinger 1980 ed.) and follows a similar one on the much smaller group of the Miscellaneidae published recently (Hottinger 2009) that were attributed to the Nonionacean superfamily
